A former WWE star who has stepped away from their wrestling career has recently spoken about the possibility of an in-ring return.
Billie Kay, formerly of WWE’s The IIconics, was released by WWE in April 2021 along with her tag partner Peyton Royce.
In October 2021, they would reform as IInspiration in IMPACT Wrestling and remain with the company until April 2022 when the pair would announce they would be “indefinitely stepping away from in-ring action.”
Outside of an appearance on UpUpDownDown, Billie Kay hasn’t really been involved in the wrestling world since.
In a recent virtual signing for Golden Ring Collectibles, the real-life Jessie McKay would be asked about a possible in-ring return, saying:
“Never say never. There’s always opportunities but, um, liking where I’m at in my life right now.”
She would also reveal that she’s focusing on her acting career, adding:
“I just like what I’m doing right now so, I really am diving into my acting career and that’s my priority right now.
“I have classes every Wednesday. I think training and learning about that business is extremely important if you wanna succeed so that’s just my priority now and auditioning as much as I can.”
Acting is something that McKay is clearly passionate about, with her reflecting on the reasons she got into wrestling, saying:
“I mean, I feel like people forget, the reason why I was drawn into wrestling was for the characters.
“I was drawn to The Rock who was the over-the-top character in the Attitude Era and I think people forget that we are characters.
“Nobody is going to remember how good my body slam was or how I could take a suplex and they’re gonna remember the promos and the interactions that I had with people so…”
As Post Wrestling notes, “McKay is going to be starring in a film titled ‘The Charisma Killers’. Filming wrapped up in 2022. Tenille Dashwood and Brian Pillman Jr. were cast in the movie as well.”
