WWE SummerSlam 2026 Night Two is set to get underway in mere hours coming off the heels of Night One in Minneapolis.

Despite the short amount of time beforehand, the company still has the chance to have some last minute changes and adjustments to the card that will lead to an even better show than the previous evening.

From added stipulations to some other WWE stars getting a spot on the lineup, there are some interesting ways for the promotion to enhance the overall SummerSlam weekend with some late game changes.

Here are six potential last minute changes to WWE SummerSlam 2026 Night Two.

6. Dominik Mysterio Defends AAA Mega Championship In Human Monies On A Pole Match Against Danhausen

Dominik Mysterio has found himself more focused on Danhausen than defending his AAA Mega Championship as of late.

In Lucha Libre AAA, Mysterio is set to defend his gold against El Grande Americano at TripleMania in September, but he could get one more title defense before then.

Danhausen has been undefeated since signing with WWE and has already scored a victory over JD McDonagh at Saturday Night’s Main Event.

With the ‘Very Nice, Very Evil’ star putting up the “human monies” at WWE SummerSlam 2026, it only makes sense for ‘Dirty Dom’ to put his AAA Mega Title on the line as well.

5. Penta vs. Chad Gable For WWE Intercontinental Championship Opens The Show

Chad Gable has been on the road to redemption ever since losing his Original El Grande Americano mask at AAA Noche de Los Grandes.

Stemming his road to descent to his quest to win the WWE Intercontinental Championship, Gable will challenge for the gold against Penta at SummerSlam 2026.

This is a special match for the former Olympian because WWE SummerSlam 2026 takes place in Gable’s hometown of Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Having this emotional story in front of his friends and family, it should be Gable who opens SummerSlam against Penta to start things off hot.

4. Pre-Show Match Added With Raquel Rodriguez Defending WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship Against Sol Ruca & Lyra Valkyria

WWE is known for their lengthier pre-show or countdown shows that go between two to three hours long for major premium live events.

The talking heads for WWE like Joe Tessitore, Jackie Redmond, Cathy Kelly and Big E take care of much of the heavy lifting, while they also get word from certain stars ahead of big matches.

However, the company could enhance the experience of getting to these significant shows early with a pre-show match for them and the fans watching at home to enjoy.

Coming off the heels of her title win on WWE Raw, Raquel Rodriguez could defend the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship against former champions Sol Ruca and Lyra Valkyria to kick things off ahead of SummerSlam this year.

3. Carmelo Hayes Inserts Himself in the Trick Williams vs. Baron Corbin WWE United States Championship Match

On the July 10 episode of Friday Night SmackDown, Trick Williams went one-on-one with Carmelo Hayes in a non-title match, but this bout was interrupted by the returning Baron Corbin.

After being gone from WWE for almost two years, Corbin has come back with a mission to teach the new generation and win championship gold again.

Targeting Trick Williams, Corbin will challenge for the WWE United States Championship in his return bout at SummerSlam 2026.

However, Hayes was screwed over in his opportunity to face the champion and should be part of this PLE match, so fans could see Melo insert himself and “shoot his shot” to get on the SummerSlam card at the last minute.

2. Becky Lynch Returns As Last-Minute Entrant In Interim WWE Women’s Championship Ladder Match

After losing the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship at Clash In Italy 2026, Becky Lynch has been absent from the company’s television.

‘The Man’ remains one of WWE’s biggest stars and someone who has been a trailblazer for women’s wrestling over the past decade.

Lynch’s return should be treated as a big deal and could see her thrusted back into the main title picture again after being the cornerstone of the Women’s IC Title scene over the past year.

With the Interim WWE Women’s Championship Ladder Match set to take center stage on Night Two, Lynch could return to make this a six-way for the gold in Minneapolis.

1. Roman Reigns vs. Seth Rollins Becomes Hell In A Cell

Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins have over 14 years history together stemming from their time in The Shield to their current bitter rivalry over the past decade.

WWE has leaned into the history between Reigns and Rollins with a series of video packages looking at the past heading into their World Heavyweight Championship bout at SummerSlam 2026.

On Night One of SummerSlam, Oba Femi defeated Brock Lesnar inside Hell In A Cell. WWE could choose to leave the Cell up for Night Two of the event.

Considering everything that has happened between these two men, Roman and Seth need to settle the score once and for all, having a Hell In A Cell match would put some definitiveness on this bout that would not be there otherwise.
