CM Punk Confirms Injury & WrestleMania 40 Status

CM Punk Confirms Injury & WrestleMania 40 Status WWE

Opening up tonight’s edition of WWE Raw, CM Punk revealed the injury he suffered at the Royal Rumble and his status for WrestleMania 40.

CM Punk arrived to WWE Raw on January 29 wearing a sling, already an indication that reports that he was injured would be confirmed.

Punk would go on to both confirm that he has suffered a torn triceps but also that rehabbing in time for WrestleMania 40 just ‘isn’t in the cards’.

While Punk was obviously distraught giving the news, he noted that he wouldn’t give up on his dream of main eventing WrestleMania one day, rather noting ‘there is always next year’.

CM Punk was interrupted by Drew McIntyre who initially seemed to have some empathy for Punk however he quickly pivoted.

Telling Punk that he wasn’t much of a spiritual person usually however after hearing the news of CM Punk’s injury, he realized he had “prayed for this” to happen.

Feeling proud of having ‘exorcised the demon’ from the WWE locker room, Drew McIntyre was pleased that CM Punk would be out of action with injury.

CM Punk retorted that his heart hurt more than his triceps but he would rehab and he would be back.

And when he returns Punk said, he would be coming straight for Drew McIntyre.

The pair would actually come to blows including McIntyre targeted the injured arm however it was another returning star that ran out to make the save on behalf of CM Punk.

Sami Zayn made his return to WWE Raw and ran off McIntyre from continuing the attack on the downed CM Punk.

Elsewhere on tonight’s episode a new voice on the WWE Raw commentary team debuted alongside Michael Cole.
