Cody Rhodes has explained the backstory behind a house show moment with a WWE Hall of Famer.

Fans attend house shows a lot of times not expecting much to happen out of the norm from what they see on television every week.

There are rare moments that stand out in the crowd’s minds as something that they would never see from certain characters, especially someone like WWE Hall of Famer The Undertaker.

At a house show more than a decade ago, “The Deadman” was in a six man tag team bout that saw him on the apron pour water on his face and start running from side to side to rally his partner to tag him into the matchup. This clip has since circulated on social media for years now.

One of Taker’s opponents that night was “The American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes. Answering a fan on Twitter who asked for the backstory behind this moment, Cody tweeted:

Rhodes is in a much bigger position in WWE than he was at the time of the clip. He won the 2023 Men’s Royal Rumble match at the titular event last month.
