WWE star Je’von Evans has opened up on having to ‘restart’ on the main roster after working up to become a top star in NXT.
Last year, WWE NXT was seemingly looking to anoint Je’von Evans as the brand’s next top star, with him winning the Iron Survivor Challenge at Deadline in December.
However, Evans would lose his NXT Championship match just days later, with him officially being moved up to the main roster the month after his victory in the Iron Survivor, leading to a big change of direction for NXT.
Je’von Evans Had To ‘Restart’ Following Main Roster Call Up
Speaking on the Club 520 Podcast, Je’von Evans was asked about his hardest adjustment following his call up, where he reflected on being taken from NXT as he was on the verge of becoming the top star of the brand.
He said:
“The hardest adjustment? I think when I was in NXT I was working my way up to become a top guy there, and right before that happened, main roster snatched me up, and I had to restart.
“Now I’m wrestling in front of bigger crowds and people that don’t know who I am at all aside from NXT fans. I feel like just adjusting to, and learning what different wrestling crowds like, because not every wrestling crowd likes the flips I do, some crowds just love you talking to them during the match and they’re like ‘oh this is the best match ever’.
“So I feel like learning that and developing that, that’s what my biggest challenge is right now.”

Je’von Evans’ Potential On The WWE Main Roster
Je’von Evans has been touted as a future top WWE star alongside the likes of Oba Femi and Trick Williams since all three men were called up to the WWE main roster in January.
While Je’von is currently on the rise, he also has age on his side, with him recently becoming one of the youngest ever WrestleMania debutants at the age of 21.
With Je’von already touted for future success by many top stars in the industry, we will likely see him rise to the top of WWE over the next decade as he continues to grow.
