MJF has provided a positive update on his recovery after hyperextending his knee on the June 3 episode of AEW Dynamite.

Last Thursday (June 4) Beyond Wrestling announced that MJF had been pulled from his scheduled match with Bobby Orlando on their June 5 show in Cranston, Rhode Island due to the AEW World Champion suffering a hyperextended knee during his match with RUSH on the June 3 AEW Dynamite.

While the promotion announced that MJF did intend to compete for them once he was fully healed, due to the nature of the injury fans would have likely expected not to see the AEW World Champion back for at least a few weeks.

Thankfully however, that appears it will not be the case, as MJF has revealed in a video on his Instagram that he is not set for a prolonged stint on the sidelines.

Owning his rapid recovery to his Nordic Wave cold plunge tub, MJF said:

“Recently I have hurt my left knee, I hyperextended it in a match against RUSH, who is a bad person, I think we can all agree on that. And honestly the Nordic Wave, this match happened on Wednesday, it is now I believe Tuesday and the inflammation on my knee has drastically gone down.

“Obviously there’s still a s**t-tonne of inflammation and pain but being honest with myself, without this cold plunge I do believe it would have took me a lot longer to start feeling like myself.

“And honestly I think Nordic Wave is going to be a big part of ensuring that I don’t have to take any time off which is imperative for both my career and frankly the company of All Elite Wrestling.

“Ratings, ticket sales, pay-per-view buys, you name it, you’re welcome. My name is Maxwell Jacob Friedman and Nordic Wave is my go to for cold plunging, and I’m better than you, and you know it.”

AEW Forbidden Door Title Defense Back On The Cards For MJF?

With MJF now seeming set for a return to the ring before too long, it seems likely we could see the three-time AEW World Champion in action at AEW Forbidden Door on Sunday, June 28.

The cross-promotional pay-per-view will see stars from AEW, NJPW, CMLL and STARDOM collide in San Jose, California, and it seems as if a few stars from within AEW are positioning themselves as potential contenders for MJF’s title.

While MJF managed to knock RUSH back on Dynamite, El Toro Blanco’s former LFI stablemate Andrade El Idolo has long been angling for a crack at MJF.

Then there’s Mark Briscoe, who seems like the odds on favorite to get a big title match against MJF after calling him out on consecutive episodes of Dynamite over the past two weeks.

We will provide any updates on MJF’s status and potential Forbidden Door plans as they become available.
