WWE star R-Truth has recalled his son’s reaction to his departure and return to the company last year, and why it stuck with him.
Last year, R-Truth took to social media, where he announced his departure from WWE following his match with John Cena at Saturday Night’s Main Event.
However, Truth’s departure would last for just over a week, as fans online and in arenas began hashtags and chants of ‘We Want Truth’, which led to the company re-signing him.
‘It Was Worth It’ – Why R-Truth’s Son’s Words Still Stick With Him
With Truth currently reigning as one half of the WWE Tag Team Champions, he spoke to Witty Whittier, where he recalled his son’s reaction to his return, and why it still sticks with him.
He said:
“I always some it up with something my son said to me back when it happened. He saw all the numbers and was like ‘dad it was worth it’, and just those words, man.
“I’ve missed so many graduations, birthdays, anniversaries, deaths in my family, I’ve missed so much, but I’ve dedicated so much. That outpour, the abundance of love I was shown, will never, ever go unnoticed by me.
“When you say the ‘People’s Champ’, that gave me that title right then and there, and I love the people for that.”

R-Truth & Damian Priest & SmackDown’s Tag Team Weakness
Over the past few months, the tag team divisions on WWE television have begun taking a backseat, with less and less focus being put on the titles and divisions.
The duo of R-Truth and Damian Priest currently reign as the WWE Tag Team Champions on SmackDown, with them in a rivalry with the MFTs.
With recent reports that WWE is looking at bolstering it’s tag team divisions on both Raw and SmackDown using existing stars on the roster, it seems as though Truth and Priest will remain together for the time being, with the pair matching the exact description.
However, with Finn Balor now on the SmackDown brand, it may not be long before we see he and Priest reunite once more now both are free from the clutches of the Judgment Day.
As for other teams, the division still includes the likes of Fraxiom and Los Garza, even if they are sparingly featured on television, as well as alliances such as The Miz and Kit Wilson, and the blossoming alliance between Sami Zayn and Johnny Gargano.
