Top WWE Star Considering ‘A Number Of Things’ Ahead Of Contract Expiring WWE

A backstage update has emerged on Drew McIntyre’s WWE status, with the former world champion possibly set to take some time off from wrestling.

McIntyre’s future with the company has appeared up in the air at times this year, with the Scottish Warrior’s WWE contract reportedly up in April 2024.

McIntyre was reportedly legitimately upset following November’s Survivor Series premium live event because of things ‘broader than CM Punk’.

Per Dave Meltzer in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, McIntyre has considered taking time off to spend time with family, among other things.

Sharing the latest update, Meltzer wrote:

In the case of McIntyre, as of this week there was nothing new as far as what he was looking at doing.

He’s considered a number of things including taking time off to be with his family that he’s seen little of for so long.

McIntyre’s contract has been reported as expiring in April 2024, after some time added on due to absences earlier this year. A previous report indicated that WWE believes there to be plenty of time for the two sides to reach a new agreement.

McIntyre has appeared on WWE TV since Survivor Series, most recently defeating Sami Zayn on Monday’s December 4 edition of Raw.

Later on in the show, McIntyre attacked Jey Uso following Uso’s World Heavyweight Championship match against Seth Rollins, which Rollins won.

McIntyre has since shared a message for Jey Uso, which you can read more about right here.
