A pair of WWE Hall of Famers have teased returning to the ring to challenge for a pair of current championships.
Almost a year ago at WrestleMania 39, we saw Team Bestie AKA Trish Stratus & Lita return to WWE to team up alongside Becky Lynch to take on Damage CTRL’s Bayley, Dakota Kai & IYO SKY in a six-woman tag match.
While this would be Lita’s most recent match, Stratus was far from done there, going on to engage in a near-five month feud with Lynch afterwards, culminating at Payback 2023 in September.
Now, speaking at a Q&A session at For The Love of Wrestling, both Stratus & Lita were asked about returning to the company for one final championship run, of which Lita brought up potentially challenging for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles, currently held by The Kabuki Warriors.
Discussing the idea, Lita said:
“We have touched on that. It’s a great question. I feel like that should be the last question but, only because it’s awesome.
“But, people like to talk about this imaginary curse of the (WWE Women’s) Tag Titles but I think that if Trish and I were Tag Champs that somehow the curse would magically disappear.”
Stratus would then chime in, sending a message to Kairi Sane & Asuka:
“What do you guys think of that?…
“(Our message to The Kabuki Warriors is) You’re not ready for Team Bestie.”
Despite not competing since her Steel Cage match with Becky Lynch at Payback, Stratus is still listed as an active member of the Raw roster on WWE.com.
As of right now The Kabuki Warriors have no scheduled opponents at WWE WrestleMania 40.
