6 Changes To WWE SummerSlam 2026

WWE is set to host it’s second biggest event of the year this weekend, with two nights of SummerSlam headed to US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Six matches are currently planned for both nights of the show, with 12 total matches spanning across the two night event.

However, there are a number of changes we could see be made to the announced matches on the show.

Here are 6 potential changes to WWE SummerSlam 2026.

Carmelo Hayes Added To United States Championship Match

Baron Corbin made his return to WWE after almost two years away back on July 10, when he laid out both Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams during their match.

The attack was seemingly setting up a multi-man match for SummerSlam, with Corbin facing both Trick and Melo on the show, but that is currently not the case, as WWE has announced a singles match between Corbin and Trick for SummerSlam.

After Carmelo Hayes was also left off WrestleMania earlier this year having lost the United States Championship to Sami Zayn just weeks prior to the event, many fans have been rallying for him to feature on this year’s SummerSlam card.

Adding Hayes to the match will only make the match more exciting, and be a deserved PLE match for Melo after he was left off WrestleMania.

Mystery Sixth Participant Added To Interim WWE Women’s Championship Match

With WWE Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley out injured, WWE is set to crown an interim champion at SummerSlam in a Ladder match.

Tiffany Stratton, Charlotte Flair, Jade Cargill and Chelsea Green have already qualified for the match, with the final spot seemingly set to go to either Giulia or Lash Legend next week.

However, WWE has added surprise additions to matches the night of the show in the past, and this would be an easy spot to do so once again.

Whether it be Nia Jax finally getting her shot after being screwed over twice, a debuting Lola Vice, or a major returning name like AJ Lee or Becky Lynch, a sixth woman chasing the interim WWE Women’s Championship would make the match all the more exciting.

Brock Lesnar Officially Puts Career On The Line Against Oba Femi

At WrestleMania, it seemed as though Brock Lesnar had retired from in-ring competition following his dominant loss at the hands of Oba Femi to kick off night two of the event.

However, Lesnar is now back in the fold, with him set to wrap up his feud with Oba inside Hell In A Cell this weekend in his hometown of Minneapolis.

Prior to WrestleMania, many within the company had expected Lesnar to end his career at SummerSlam in his hometown.

With the feud between he and Oba set to end, Brock could officially put his career on the line for the match to add extra stakes.

‘Acknowledgement’ Stipulation Added To Six-Man Tag Team Match

At WWE Clash In Italy, Roman Reigns would defeat Jacob Fatu in a Tribal Combat main event, with the stipulation being that Jacob would be forced to acknowledge Roman if he loss.

Following the match, Jacob has joined forces with the Bloodline as the group attempts to have Solo Sikoa rejoin, with the Bloodline set to face Solo, Royce Keys and LA Knight in a six-man tag match at SummerSlam.

With Solo currently finding his feet as a babyface, it would be a mistake for WWE to instantly turn him heel again in favor of a reunion with his brothers and cousins in the Bloodline.

If WWE insists on adding Solo back to the group, having him be forced to acknowledge Roman just as Jacob did before him would be the way to go.

Judgment Day Banned From Ringside For Liv Morgan vs. IYO SKY

After winning the Women’s World Championship back at WrestleMania 42, Liv Morgan has made zero defences of the title on WWE television.

Liv’s first defence of the title comes this weekend against Queen of the Ring winner IYO SKY, with Liv carrying a lot of extra baggage into the show, including a curse from Danhausen.

With Liv’s curse continuing to bring down her stablemates in the Judgment Day, we could see her not want to bring any more harm to Raquel, Roxanne and the rest of the group.

As such, Liv could either opt to do things alone against IYO at SummerSlam, or the Judgment Day could be banned from ringside for the match by Adam Pearce.

Bloodline Rules Stipulation Added To Roman Reigns vs. Seth Rollins

What started as a simple story between Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins and their 14 year history together has quickly turned into an extension of this version of the Bloodline story.

Solo Sikoa proposed an alliance with Seth Rollins last week on Raw, with Rollins saying he would think about it as they both attempt to fight off the Bloodline.

No man knows the Bloodline and Roman Reigns better than Seth Rollins, and with them almost certainly set to get involved at SummerSlam, the best way to combat the family could be to fight fire with fire.

As a group of ‘anti-Bloodline’ wrestlers continues to form, Rollins would definitely have allies, even if reluctant, ready to help him out if the match was to be made Bloodline Rules.
