Has a Premium Live Event had a name change or was it just a misplaced word in a promo on the April 10 episode of WWE Raw?
That’s been a topic of conversation on social media since Cody Rhodes challenged Brock Lesnar to a match at the May 6 Puerto Rico event.
It had previously been confirmed that WWE WrestleMania Backlash was to be known as WWE Backlash, as it had been known from 1999 to 2020.
In his passionate promo, however, Cody Rhodes set his challenge to Brock Lesnar and specifically said it would take place not at Backlash but at “WrestleMania Backlash.”
Everything on WWE’s website and other promotional material suggests the event is still simply WWE Backlash, so it was likely just a misnomer from Rhodes, but we’ll keep you updated if there is indeed a change made.
This all comes after Lesnar attacked Rhodes on the April 3 episode of WWE Raw, a story that had “been in place a month ahead of Monday’s episode.”
It was recently reported that Roman Reigns won’t be at WWE Backlash though would be “doing other major events over the next few months.”
The Puerto Rico Premium Live Event will feature Bad Bunny, who recently levelled Dominik Mysterio in a moment that may set up a tag team match for the show.
