7 Matches That Could Be Added To WWE Extreme Rules: The Horror Show

Jeff Hardy vs. Sheamus

This one would be a rematch from Backlash, but it’s a rivalry personal enough to warrant a rematch, especially one with a stipulation given that this is Extreme Rules.

This past Friday, there was meant to be a ‘Toast to Jeff Hardy’ segment with Sheamus, but the Irishman wasn’t at the tapings. The same segment is now being advertised for this coming Friday’s episode instead, so there’s clearly something trying to be achieved here.

Sheamus won the match at Backlash, and it would be very, very weird if this story was to end with the heel standing tall, so a rematch with a stipulation and a Hardy win at Extreme Rules would all make sense.

Matt Riddle vs. King Corbin

It’s been reported lately that for months WWE has planned that Matt Riddle’s first program on the main roster upon his move from NXT with King Corbin, but this is apparently something Corbin hasn’t taken very well.

Corbin apparently wants Riddle to beat at least five enhancement talents to work his way up before a match with him, which if true, is frankly all kinds of ridiculous.

WWE let Riddle in on the action this past Friday with a Floating Bro to Corbin to close the show, so it seems like the company still wants this to happen even if Corbin isn’t particularly keen.

Riddle has already beaten Intercontinental Champion AJ Styles in a non-title match, which was in fact on his SmackDown debut, so a win against Corbin would actually be a step down from that would it not? Either way, providing Corbin doesn’t throw his toys out the pram, don’t be surprised to see this on the Extreme Rules card.
