WWE Plans For Oba Femi After Defeating Brock Lesnar At WrestleMania 42 WWE

At WWE WrestleMania 42, Oba Femi defeated Brock Lesnar in what was the biggest win of his young career.

‘The Ruler’ looks poised to be one of the top stars in WWE coming out of ‘The Showcase of the Immortals.’

This makes it interesting to see what will be next for Femi to continue his momentum moving forward.

Here are six potential WWE plans for Oba Femi after defeating Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 42.

6. Officially Signing With Monday Night Raw Or Friday Night SmackDown

At WWE Royal Rumble 2026, Oba Femi made his main roster debut as the number one entrant in the men’s Royal Rumble match.

Coming out of the premium live event, both WWE Raw and SmackDown General Managers Adam Pearce and Nick Aldis were trying to sign Femi to their individual brands.

Wanting to acquire the two-time NXT Champion, Femi looked to be one of the most sought after free agents.

After his victory over Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 42, Femi should make a final decision and sign with either Raw or SmackDown, making things official for the remainder of the year.

5. Going On A Lengthy Undefeated Streak Where He Dominates Everyone

During his run in WWE NXT, Oba Femi really made a name for himself with a lengthy undefeated streak.

This streak saw ‘The Ruler’ become the most dominant and longest reigning NXT North American Champions of all time.

To cement his status as one of the new main eventers on the WWE main roster, the company should give Femi a massive undefeated streak after his win over Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 42.

Whether it be against lower level talent or established names, Femi should beat everyone in front of him heading into a world title bout down the line.

4. Feud With Drew McIntyre

Back at the December 13 edition of WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event, Oba Femi faced Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes.

However, this bout was interrupted by Drew McIntyre, who attacked ‘The American Nightmare’ in the midst of their feud over the title to cause a no contest.

This led to ‘The Ruler’ manhandling McIntyre and laying him out alongside Rhodes to close this match.

Now that he has vanquished Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 42, Oba could kickstart a rivalry with someone else who has defeated ‘The Beast’ in McIntyre.

3. Going After Penta’s WWE Intercontinental Championship

WWE could launch Oba Femi straight into the main event picture or give him more of a gradual climb up the ladder.

If they go with the latter, Femi could be next in line to challenge Penta for the Intercontinental Championship after WrestleMania 42.

At ‘The Grandest Stage of Them All,’ Penta defeated Je’Von Evans, Rusev, JD McDonagh, Dragon Lee and Rey Mysterio in a Ladder Match to retain the IC Title.

Now that he has overcome five challengers at Mania, Penta could face his most insurmountable opponent in Oba Femi, who will be looking to capture the first singles title of his main roster run.

2. Win The King Of The Ring Tournament

While a victory over Brock Lesnar should be enough to position him as a top contender for the World Heavyweight Title, WWE may want to see Oba Femi earn that opportunity.

In June, WWE will hold its latest King of the Ring tournament with the winner earning a shot at the top prize of their individual brand at SummerSlam 2026.

After getting a win over Lesnar, Femi would have to be seen as an odds-on favorite to win the King of the Ring this year.

Going through the rest of the competition and continuing his dominance, ‘The Ruler’ could become the King on his way to a main event showdown at WWE SummerSlam 2026.

1. Challenge Roman Reigns For The World Heavyweight Championship

Whether it be through the King of the Ring tournament or immediately after WrestleMania 42, Oba Femi facing Roman Reigns for the World Heavyweight Championship has already been teased.

On the WrestleMania 42 post-show, Femi spoke with the analysts and was asked what is next for him following his victory over Brock Lesnar.

‘The Ruler’ was quick to call out Roman Reigns and the World Heavyweighy Championship. However, Reigns shut that down by stating that Femi did something big but needs to do it more times before he steps up to ‘The OTC.’

Femi challenging Reigns for the title will be a huge matchup that would garner plenty of attention from around the wrestling world and feels worthy of a stage like WWE SummerSlam 2026 or even next year’s WrestleMania 43 premium live event.
