On August 1 and 2, WWE will present one of their biggest events of the year with the SummerSlam 2026 PLE.

At “The Biggest Party of the Summer,” there can be a lot of changes that will alter the way the company looks moving forward.

From new champions being crowned to drastic changes to a current faction, these moments and adjustments can totally change everything and put things to the forefront in a major way.

Here are seven potential changes to WWE SummerSlam 2026.

7. The Judgment Day issues comes to a head to cost Liv Morgan the WWE Women’s World Championship against IYO SKY

The Judgment Day have been dealing with problems as of late with some cracks forming in the foundation of the faction.

Whether it be Roxanne Perez having doubts or lingering issues between Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez, The Judgment Day has not been firing on all cylinders as of late.

SummerSlam will be a very important show for the group with Morgan defending the WWE Women’s World Championship against Queen of the Ring IYO SKY.

Considering the importance of this bout, SKY could take advantage of the problems within The Judgment Day to dethrone Morgan for the title in Minneapolis.

6. Jade Cargill becomes a two-time WWE Women’s Champion

At WWE WrestleMania 42 Night Two, Rhea Ripley defeated Jade Cargill to win the WWE Women’s Championship.

Then in a rematch, Ripley beat Cargill once again to retain the title at the WWE Clash In Italy premium live event.

However, Ripley suffered a serious knee injury during this contest that has forced her to the sidelines, with the company set to crown an interim WWE Women’s Champion in her absence.

With another chance to reclaim her gold, Cargill should be a favorite in the five-way ladder match to crown an interim champion at WWE SummerSlam.

5. Bayley makes one final appearance to say goodbye to WWE

At the July 18 edition of WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event, Lyra Valkyria defeated Bayley.

After the match ended, Valkyria viciously assaulted Bayley, laying her out with the Night Wing on the steel steps.

Following the show, it was heavily speculated that this Bayley beatdown served as her write-off from WWE television.

However, Bayley could make one more appearance as a WWE star on the SummerSlam PLE to say goodbye to the fans.

4. Chad Gable finally wins the Intercontinental Championship & helps Alpha Academy win the World Tag Team Championship

Following his unmasking as The Original El Grande Americano, Chad Gable has been on the road to redemption.

After making amends with the luchadors as well as Alpha Academy, Gable has put his focus on finally winning a singles title in WWE when he challenges Penta for the Intercontinental Championship at SummerSlam.

On the June 22 episode of WWE Raw, Gable attempted to apologize to Alpha Academy, which led to Maxxine Dupri turning down her former mentor. However, Dupri went on to betray Otis and Tozawa to join forces with The Vision.

Now that Dupri is out of the way, Gable could be the key for Alpha Academy to also beat The Vision, so that the former stablemates all walk out of Minneapolis as new champions.

3. Paul Heyman abandons Brock Lesnar vs. Oba Femi in Hell In A Cell

In recent weeks, fans have seen Paul Heyman start to separate himself from The Vision.

While he has put all his chips on Brock Lesnar, this does not mean that Heyman could not do the same thing to “The Beast Incarnate” that he has done to The Vision.

Lesnar is set to face Oba Femi inside Hell In A Cell in his hometown of Minneapolis at WWE SummerSlam.

Despite their long-standing relationship with one another, Heyman could take a loss by Lesnar as an invitation to leave his side and align himself with Oba Femi instead.

2. Solo Sikoa comes home to The Bloodline by helping Roman Reigns beat Seth Rollins to retain the World Heavyweight Championship

Following WWE Clash In Italy, Solo Sikoa has found himself right back in the thick of things with The Bloodline.

After being invited to come home to The Bloodline, Sikoa has now been trying to make The Bloodline’s lives a living hell by interfering in their matches and getting involved in their business.

However, Sikoa made an intriguing proposal to Seth Rollins to have his back against Roman Reigns and The Bloodline at WWE SummerSlam.

With chaos expected during this bout, it should open the door for Solo to shock the world and show his loyalty to The Bloodline by assisting Reigns to finally beat Rollins in a high profile bout at SummerSlam on August 1 or 2.

1. Cody Rhodes turns heel on CM Punk to win the Undisputed WWE Championship

At WWE Night of Champions, Sami Zayn defeated Cody Rhodes and GUNTHER to win the Undisputed WWE Championship.

After losing the gold, Rhodes became the number one contender and earned a shot at the gold again. However, GUNTHER attacked “The American Nightmare,” which caused him to miss the title bout.

This led to CM Punk replacing his friend to defeat Zayn to win the Undisputed WWE Championship in his hometown of Chicago on the July 6 Monday Night Raw.

With their match set for WWE SummerSlam and the recent tension on display, Cody Rhodes could finally find himself embracing the dark side by taking the Undisputed WWE Championship from Punk in Minneapolis.
