Conflicting Reports On Asuka WWE Status Ahead Of WrestleMania 38 WWE

Another update has emerged on the WWE status of Asuka, who has been out of action with a shoulder injury since July 2021.

On Wednesday (March 2), PWInsider reported that Asuka appears to be waiting for WWE to make a plan for her return.

Fightful Select (subscription required) has since reported that Asuka’s name is still on WWE’s inactive list. It was pointed out that Xavier Woods has been removed from the list despite not appearing on WWE programming, indicating that Asuka hasn’t been cleared to return to the ring.

Per the report, a WWE source revealed that the ‘optimistic’ expected return date for the Empress of Tomorrow is ‘around spring’. Another source reportedly noted that no return plans have been made as Asuka is currently not available. A top WWE talent also told Fightful that they personally hadn’t heard any updates on Asuka in quite a while.

Asuka hasn’t wrestled since Money in the Bank in July 2021. Asuka has been recovering from a shoulder injury since, with the star sharing a photo of her arm in a brace back in August.
