The Revolution Pro Wrestling British Heavyweight Championship has changed hands at Wrestle Kingdom 13. Zack Sabre Jr. has defeated Tomohiro Ishii to win the RevPro Championship for the third time.
Zack Sabre Jr. was able to outlast the strikes from Tomohiro Ishii to defeat the ‘Stone Pitbull’ by submission. Sabre worked over Ishii’s arm during the match before submitting him to a variation of the octopus lock. This match capped off a year of immense growth from Sabre in New Japan. He won the New Japan Cup, performed tremendously in the G1 Climax, and now won a very decisive match at Wrestle Kingdom 13.
Tomohiro Ishii defeated Zack Sabre Jr. to win the championship back in April of 2018. Throughout the previous year Ishii and Minoru Suzuki traded the title before Sabre challenged Ishii to the rematch at Wrestle Kingdom 13. Zack Sabre Jr. also holds the RevPro Undisputed British Tag Team Championships alongside his Suzuki-Gun stablemate, Minoru Suzuki.
The first three matches on Wrestle Kingdom 13 have all resulted in title changes. Will Ospreay won the NEVER Openweight Championship, BUSHI and Shingo Takagi won the IWGP Junior Tag Team Championships and now Zack Sabre Jr has won the RevPro Championship.
