Johnny Gargano has reacted to his name trending on Twitter after the July 30 WWE SummerSlam event.
Following Triple H taking over WWE creative, there had been speculation that Gargano would return to WWE during the Biggest Party of the Summer.
Some fans had theorised that the former NXT Champion was going to face Seth Rollins, after Rollins’ match against Riddle was pulled from the event.
Gargano has now taken to Twitter to poke fun at the fact that both he and Marvel’s Reed Richards were trending, noting:
“Wait. Am I gonna be in the Fantastic Four?!”
The former NXT Champion addressed the ‘elephant in the room‘ surrounding a potential WWE return during a recent Twitch stream.
Gargano left WWE in December 2021 after his contract expired. He recently made a reportedly one-off appearance for IMPACT Wrestling during the July 28 show, which you can read more about right here.
A number of talents have left WWE since Gargano’s departure, with over 20 onscreen names finishing up with WWE this year. You can check out the full list of WWE departures in 2022 at this link.
