The longtime Blackpool Combat Club member came back a lot colder and sadistic, which led to him and the rest of the group turning on Bryan Danielson at All Out 2024.

Then one month later, Moxley defeated Danielson to become the new AEW World Champion and ended the career of “The American Dragon.”

From the ashes of Bryan’s career and the BCC, Moxley created The Death Riders alongside Marina Shafir, Claudio Castagnoli, Wheeler Yuta and PAC.

Over the past few years, The Death Riders have ran roughshod over AEW as the most dominant faction and have added the likes of Daniel Garcia and Gabe Kidd along the way.

However, there was a recent addition that has caused conflict within the faction and that is Will Ospreay.

After breaking his neck and putting on the sidelines for months in 2025, Ospreay came back for vengeance, but it blinded him, leading to a loss against Moxley at AEW Dynasty 2026.

Following this loss and another to Mark Davis, Moxley offered Ospreay some training that would rebuild him into a machine that could be capable of winning the AEW World Title.

Despite using that help to win the Owen Hart Foundation Men’s Tournament Finals, Ospreay turned his back on The Death Riders after being nearly forced to put a plastic bag over the head of his idol and friend Kenny Omega at Redemption 2026.

Now, it seems like there might be some dissension between Jon Moxley and his stablemates as he prepares to face Will Ospreay for the AEW World Title at All Out 2026.

Will The Death Riders excommunicate Jon Moxley?

Following his loss to “Hangman” Adam Page for the AEW World Title at All In Texas 2025, Jon Moxley went through a downward spiral.

For months, Moxley had a series of significant losses that broke his confidence.

Losing to Darby Allin at WrestleDream 2026, Moxley questioned his ability to never give up.

That led to Moxley submitting to Kyle O’Reilly on two separate occasions at Blood and Guts and Full Gear 2026.

After these losses, many fans believed The Death Riders would betray Moxley before long.

However, the group stayed loyal to Moxley and cheered him on as he went on to persevere and win the 2025 Continental Classic tournament to become the new AEW Continental Champion.

Even when Moxley brought Will Ospreay into their faction, The Death Riders remained by his side.

Following the announcement that Moxley will challenge Ospreay for the AEW World Championship at All Out 2026, it seems like some cracks are starting to form in The Death Riders.

This started when Moxley stopped Gabe Kidd from attacking Ospreay with a steel chair on the September 2 episode of AEW Dynamite.

Then on the September 9 Rebel Heart Dynamite, both Kidd and PAC questioned why Moxley brought Ospreay into their stable and still has some respect for him after his betrayal.

This feels like the first time there have been any outright doubts against “The Ace of AEW.”

While loyalty has been key to The Death Riders’ success, it might be the right time to remove weakness from the faction.

If Jon Moxley comes up short against Will Ospreay in Chicago, fans could see a moment that is more than two years in the making.

The Death Riders turning on Moxley at the same event and same arena that they betrayed Bryan Danielson two years ago would be poetic justice.

Considering this recent tension, The Death Riders betraying Mox should be one of the most memorable turns in recent AEW memory.

Cody Rhodes

We could see a three-peat at WrestleMania 43, with Cody Rhodes challenging for Roman Reigns’ gold for a third time at the Showcase of the Immortals.

With Reigns defeating Rhodes at WrestleMania 39 to retain the WWE Undisputed Universal Championship, the American Nightmare finished the story at WrestleMania 40, putting away Roman Reigns to end his 1316-day Universal Title reign.

Since then, Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns have teased a third match, which we could see take place in Saudi Arabia.

With the series currently standing at one win apiece, it would be interesting to see who’d be victorious and win the trilogy of WrestleMania main events.

Speaking of rubber matches, Bronson Reed teased challenging for Roman Reigns’ World Heavyweight Championship on several occasions ahead of his recent return.

Bronson Reed and Roman Reigns each have one singles win over the other, with the OTC victorious at Clash In Paris 2025, and the “Tribal Thief” picking up the win in their Australian Street Fight at Crown Jewel two months later.

Following Reigns’ World Heavyweight Title win at WrestleMania 42 this past April, Bronson Reed congratulated his former rival, before calling for a title match upon his return.

With Reed making his comeback appearance at Sunday Night’s Main Event, it feels like it’s only a matter of time until he clashes with the Tribal Chief once more.

Jacob Fatu

Jacob Fatu is currently a member of the Bloodline faction, falling in line after losing to Roman Reigns in Tribal Combat at Clash In Italy in May.

Despite acknowledging Roman Reigns as his Tribal Chief, there have been some teases of dissension in recent weeks, including when Jacob Fatu left by himself after allowing Solo Sikoa to attack Reigns on the August 17 Raw episode.

Despite Reigns being victorious in their two World Heavyweight Championship matches earlier this year, it feels like their rivalry is far from over.

While the likes of LA Knight and Solo Sikoa feel like more immediate opponents for Roman Reigns, Jacob Fatu is a spinning plate that will eventually fall.

The Rock

With this match almost happening on numerous occasions, WrestleMania 43 could finally be the show where we see Roman Reigns face The Rock.

This bout has been discussed for years, with the bout not happening for numerous reasons in the past, from The Rock not having adequate time to get into ring shape, to the “We Want Cody” movement causing WWE to insert Cody Rhodes into the WrestleMania 40 main event plans.

With time running out, it really feels like a “now or never” situation regarding this potential match between real-life “cousins”.

While The Rock is reportedly set to start filming the Fast & Furious franchise movie “Fast Forever” in December, there’s a lot that can happen between now and WWE’s visit to Saudi Arabia.

Oba Femi

During the WrestleMania 42 post-show, Oba Femi issued a challenge to new World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns.

WWE has actively kept the two stars apart since then, with Oba Femi going on to win the King of the Ring tournament, retire Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam, and feud with The Vision instead of targeting the Tribal Chief.

Oba Femi forfeiting his guaranteed title match after becoming King of the Ring instead of facing Roman Reigns at SummerSlam indicates that WWE is saving this eventual clash for the future.

There is not a bigger stage for this match to take place than at the Show of Shows, WrestleMania 43.

4. Harley Hudson & Gabby Forza

One of the newest stars in the TNA Knockouts division is Harley Hudson.

After struggling to get a victory for her first year in the promotion, Hudson recently scored her first win over Alisha Edwards on the July 31 episode of TNA IMPACT.

Meanwhile, TNA Wrestling has recently signed Gabby Forza to their roster.

3. Frankie Kazarian & Avery Styles

At the TNA Lockdown 2026 pay-per-view, the company announced that they had signed Avery Styles.

This followed their initial victory as a duo over the Bang Bang Gang on the September 5 AEW Collision.

Despite their differences and tension, Knight and Fletcher have made for a formidable pairing.

Darby Allin & Steven Borden

Later in the same show, The New Level joined FTR and The Motor City Machine Guns in confronting The Young Bucks and AEW World Tag Team Champions Cope and Cage.

A romantic storyline with female star

Since he started making appearances on AEW TV, Steven Borden has captured the imagination of the female fanbase of the company.

Priest and Truth have had their differences throughout their tag run, but Priest has been seemingly getting more impatient as time has gone on and is keen to re-enter the singles division and pursue championship gold.

Given Priest’s track record throughout his babyface run however, it feels like his best chance of achieving significant success in WWE is by finding that edge that he had during his run in The Judgment Day.

In order to launch Priest back up the card he should most certainly be turning heel on R-Truth after they lose to The War Raiders. Truth’s immense popularity with the fans will grant the former World Heavyweight Champion some major heat right off the bat and give him a much needed character refresh.

Tiffany Stratton Costs Chelsea Green WWE Women’s Championship

Another friendship that seems destined to end in tears is that of Chelsea Green and Tiffany Stratton. While Stratton was initially hesitant to make friends with Green, she has most certainly been showing her loyalty to the WWE Women’s Champion over the past month.

Green’s broken orbital bone has seen her become an easy target for the heels on the SmackDown roster, however, her good friend Tiffy has been there by her side at every moment of danger to fight in her corner; almost always to her own detriment.

Over the past month Stratton has lost her WWE Women’s United States Title to Jacy Jayne, and been the subject of several beatdowns from The Irresistible Forces, all due to Chelsea not being at 100 percent.

While Stratton has never shown frustration towards Green for all of this, it feels inevitable that it all boils over and she gets her revenge in a major way. While that would most logically come at a time when Stratton herself can potentially dethrone Green for the title, she may get enough satisfaction by just ensuring the she loses to Nia Jax in her very first title defense this Friday.

Johnny Gargano Helps Sami Zayn Win Undisputed WWE Championship

After spending the majority of 2026 lying flat-out, unresponsive backstage, Johnny Gargano at long last returned to the land of the living and challenged CM Punk for the Undisputed WWE Title in his hometown of Cleveland last week on SmackDown (September 4).

While Gargano certainly came very close to a massive upset, it was Punk who retained the gold, before challenging Sami Zayn to an Undisputed WWE Title match this Friday in Mexico City on SmackDown.

After all of Zayn’s antics over the past few months, it feels almost certain that we get more of that in his match against Punk, but the question is will any of the potential outside factors lead to Punk retaining, or Zayn becoming a two-time Undisputed WWE Champion?

Kevin Owens, GUNTHER and Finn Balor may very well get involved, not to mention Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton. But the most intriguing possibility of all is whether Johnny Gargano will attempt to repay Zayn trying to help him win the WWE Title last week and ensure his friend finally gains justice for all the “good guys” out there.

At AAA TripleMania 34 Friday, Roxanne Perez will face Nattie, La Hiedra and Faby Apache in an AAA Reina de Reinas Championship number one contender’s match.

Then at TripleMania 34 Sunday, Flammer will defend the Reina de Reinas Title against La Catalina.

After chasing the gold, Catalina is ready for this opportunity and could walk away as champion.

Perez is the most likely challenger for Catalina coming out of TripleMania and heading into Worlds Collide.

AAA Latin American Championship: La Parka (c) vs. Damian Priest

Following his win at Ola de Calor, La Parka is the new AAA Latin American Champion.

Now, Parka will defend the gold against Mr. Iguana and Laredo Kid at TripleMania 34.

After just winning the title, it feels too soon for Parka to drop the title at the event.

That should lead to Parka moving on to WWE AAA Worlds Collide where former World Heavyweight Champion Damian Priest could position himself as the challenger at this PLE in Chicago.

AAA World Tag Team Championships: Los Americanos (Bravo & Rayo Americano) (c) vs. The War Raiders (Erik & Ivar) vs. Los Perros Del Mal (Angel & Berto)

Los Americanos came close to winning the AAA World Tag Team Championships before coming up short against The War Raiders at Ola de Calor.

With a four-way match scheduled for TripleMania 34 Friday, Bravo and Rayo could find themselves back in contention.

A win could lead to Los Americanos challenging Erik and Ivar one more time at AAA TripleMania 34 Sunday.

If they walk out with the gold, Bravo and Rayo could move on to a three-way title defense weeks later at WWE AAA Worlds Collide against both The War Raiders and Los Perros Del Mal.

WWE World Tag Team Championships: The Vision (Bron Breakker & Austin Theory) (c) vs. Lucha Bros (Penta & Rey Fenix)

The Worlds Collide event promises to feature stars from Lucha Libre AAA and the WWE main roster.

This could see The Vision’s Austin Theory and Bron Breakker defending their World Tag Team Titles at the PLE.

After recently going one-on-one, it feels like WWE might finally reunite Penta and Rey Fenix as a duo.

The Lucha Bros challenging The Vision have all the makings of a showstealer at Worlds Collide 2026.

AAA Mega Championship: El Grande Americano (c) vs. Omos

The two main events of AAA TripleMania 34 will see Dominik Mysterio defend the AAA Mega Championship against El Grande Americano and Omos going one-on-one with Rey Mysterio in a high stakes match.

It would make sense if the winners of those two matches met at WWE AAA Worlds Collide.

Omos representing El Ojo could avenge Dominik’s loss if Americano walks away with the gold.

El Grande having to defend the title against “The Nigerian Giant” would be a more than formidable first challenger for the new champion in Chicago.

Undisputed WWE Championship: CM Punk (c) vs. Dominik Mysterio

The one thing that has been advertised for WWE AAA Worlds Collide is CM Punk.

With the event taking place in Chicago, Punk being on the card felt like a no-brainer.

Holding the Undisputed WWE Championship, Punk could defend his title in the main event.

After years of teases, Punk might finally be able to go one-on-one with a recently dethroned former AAA Mega Champion in Dominik Mysterio in what could be a strong headliner for Worlds Collide at All State Arena.

Austin Creed & Kofi arrive in AEW as former 10-time WWE Tag Team Champions, and them, along with fellow former WWE tag champs Motor City Machine Guns add a great deal to what is already a stacked division.

With these two signings setting up some exciting possibilities, its time to look at more former WWE Tag Team Champions who could potentially sign with AEW soon.

Isla Dawn & Kay Lee Ray

When it comes to Isla Dawn and Kay Lee Ray’s WWE careers, winning the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles at Clash at the Castle 2024 in their home country of Scotland was certainly as good as it got.

Despite both bringing in-ring skills, a unique presentation and personality to their WWE appearances, Dawn was let go by WWE in February 2025 and Kay Lee Ray’s exit came a year later in April 2026.

While Kay Lee Ray has made appearances for Will Ospreay’s Pro Wrestling EVE promotion, she has not yet appeared on AEW TV, but Isla Dawn is certainly more than familiar with the company; so much so that fans would be forgiven for thinking that she’s already signed with Tony Khan.

Despite making over 15 appearances across AEW and ROH over the past year, Dawn is not signed to AEW, but it certainly feels like it’s matter of time before she does. While Dawn could certainly make a mark on her own, the women’s tag division in AEW would benefit much more if Khan brought both her and Kay Lee Ray aboard full-time.

Kairi Sane

Another potential strong addition to the AEW women’s locker room that we could be seeing soon is Kairi Sane.

Sane’s second stint in WWE came to an end in April when she was released from her contract – at the same time she was prevalently involved in a high profile storyline with Asuka and IYO SKY. The decision was widely criticized by WWE fans, with chants of “We Want Kairi” being heard during Asuka and SKY’s match at Backlash weeks after her exit.

Once again however, WWE’s loss could be Tony Khan’s gain, as Fightful Select have reported that Sane has held talks with AEW over joining the company.

No deal has been signed yet, so it seems as if there’s still a ways to go until we see Sane on Dynamite or Collision, but even the prospect of it happening will be enough to excite fans of the Japanese star.

Sheamus

Along with The New Level, it was reported that Sheamus was approached by WWE in regards to taking a pay cut – something he, like Austin Creed and Kofi swiftly turned down.

It remains to be seen whether ‘The Celtic Warrior’ will be following his former colleagues to All Elite Wrestling though, as he’s certainly far less of a no brainer signing for the company.

While Sheamus certainly has the name value and in-ring skills to match with the best in AEW, he is also 48 years old and has dealt with his fair share of injury issues in recent years.

What may convince Tony Khan to give him a contract however, may be the prospect of a reunion with Claudio Castagnoli. Together as The Bar, he and Sheamus stood as one of the absolute best tag teams in the world in the mid to late 2010s, and it’d certainly be fun to see them roll back the years in AEW.

Sure, Liv Morgan, Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez have a stranglehold over the women’s division on Raw, but the men’s side of the group has been treated like a joke for the majority of the year.

In order to re-establish themselves as a faction to be reckoned with, Dominik Mysterio and JD McDonagh should look to recruit a new male member to the group.

Here are three male WWE stars to potentially join The Judgment Day:

Omos

Thankfully for Dominik Mysterio, a very large helping hand is already in close proximity to him over in AAA: ‘The Nigerian Giant’ Omos.

With El Hijo del Vikingo being struck down with injury, Dominik Mysterio took charge of the El Ojo faction in AAA – which consists of Omos and Dorian Roldan – back in July.

After joining El Ojo, Mysterio said he’d “love” to merge the faction with Judgment Day in the future, and bringing Omos to WWE Raw would be the perfect way to do so.

Not only would it give Omos a well-earned second stab at main roster WWE success, but it would immediately establish Judgment Day as a faction to be feared rather than joked around with.

Big Cass

Another potential Judgment Day addition that could certainly strike some fear into the locker room would be the recently returned Big Cass.

While he is very much his own man in this WWE run, Cass and The Judgment Day have a common hatred for Je’Von Evans that has already seen them work together somewhat.

There’s no sign of that alliance becoming an official one as of yet, but if say, Dominik Mysterio and JD McDonagh were to help Cass qualify for Money in the Bank next week at Evans’ expense, then perhaps Cass can be convinced to repay the favor later down the line.

With Cass typically working best when he’s alongside someone, putting him with The Judgment Day could be a move that benefits all parties.

Damian Priest

Damian Priest’s removal from The Judgment Day in the Summer of 2024 also saw the group lose their physical presence on the male side, something they haven’t gotten back since.

However, things haven’t exactly been amazing for Priest as a singles act either and he seems further away than ever from re-entering the world title picture once again.

Priest can make a massive step forward in his career if he turns heel on R-Truth this Friday on SmackDown, as many fans expect he could. But then, what could potentially launch him back to being a main event contender is a move to Raw and rejoining The Judgment Day.

Priest returning to the clubhouse would likely be a popular decision with fans for nostalgia reasons and get fans invested in the group for the first time in a while.

This relationship has led to several AEW stars appearing on NJPW shows in the past from established names Will Ospreay, Kazuchika Okada and Kenny Omega to younger stars like Konosuke Takeshita, Nick Wayne and Wheeler Yuta.

There are even more names from the AEW roster who could make a similar impact to what these stars have in the past.

Here are eight AEW stars to potentially debut in NJPW.

8. Bobby Lashley

In 2024, Bobby Lashley left WWE after his contract expired with the company.

From there, the former two-time WWE Champion decided to sign with All Elite Wrestling later that same year.

Reuniting with MVP and Shelton Benjamin to form The Hurt Syndicate, Lashley has been among one of the most dominant competitors on the AEW roster.

While The Hurt Syndicate does not get a ton of TV time as of late, it might be a good time for Lashley to make his NJPW debut and perform in front of the Japanese fans who will have a great deal of respect for him and his accomplishments.

7. El Clon

The members of The Don Callis Family have been no strangers to New Japan Pro Wrestling.

El Clon made his debut in 2025 and has become one of the most unique members of the DCF.

With his blend of lucha libre influence and unmatched agility, Clon has made for a more than capable in-ring performer.

Having the chance to compete against the top junior heavyweights in NJPW, Clon could shine in a way that he is unable to in AEW.

6. Jake Doyle

Another Don Callis Family member who could excel in New Japan Pro Wrestling is Jake Doyle.

The former Jake Something has showcased himself to a brute that can dominate any opponent with his strength, power and athleticism.

As a member of the DCF, Doyle has played the role of enforcer and could exert his dominance across New Japan if he wanted to.

Coming into NJPW, Doyle may be able to run roughshod over anyone and everyone in front of him.

5. HOOK

Making his AEW debut in 2021, HOOK cut his teeth and grew in front of the fans.

Now looking for more experience, HOOK has started to travel around the world on the independent scene.

The former three-time FTW Champion would greatly benefit from an excursion in Japan.

Cutting his teeth with the young stars in NJPW could help HOOK improve and allow him the chance to progress his career in ways not possible in All Elite Wrestling.

4. Komander

Komander has been on a roll of quality matches since returning from his visa issues.

With his exciting high flying style, Komander has been impressing the fans and making a name for himself in a major way as of late.

Feeling like someone who would be right at home in the junior heavyweight division, it shouldn’t take long for NJPW fans to connect with Komander.

Whether it be in the Best of Super Juniors tournament or challenging for the IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Title, there is a ton of possibilities for Komander if or when he makes his NJPW debut.

3. Darby Allin

To the surprise of many fans, Darby Allin has yet to appear on an exclusive NJPW show.

Considered to be one of the most popular AEW stars today, Allin has etched his name in the promotion and become one of the biggest names on the roster today.

The former AEW World Champion has appeared in Japan for Pro Wrestling NOAH, but it is still shocking to learn he has never made his way to NJPW.

Considering his high risk style and willingness to put his body on the line, the NJPW fans will likely fall in love with Darby and his fighting spirit if he makes his debut.

2. The New Level (Kofi & Austin Creed)

At AEW All In London 2026, The New Level’s Kofi and Austin Creed made their debut in the company by teaming with Swerve Strickland to win the Trios Roulette Royale and become the new AEW World Trios Champions.

Creed and Kofi have established themselves as one of the greatest tag teams of all time and would love to show that around the world.

While they have signed with AEW, there is a chance The New Level want to make at least one appearance over in Japan.

Whether it be for a tour or a Wrestle Kingdom match, The New Level could be a significant draw for New Japan Pro Wrestling if they made the trip.

1. Cope & Cage (Adam Copeland & Christian Cage)

In 2025, Adam Copeland and Christian Cage reunited as a tag team for the first time in over a decade.

Then at AEW Double Or Nothing 2026, Cope and Cage defeated FTR in an I Quit Match to win the AEW World Tag Team Championships.

Recently, Copeland let it be known that he has a list of historic arenas that he wants to check off his bucket list. “The Rated R Superstar” has been able to compete in Wembley Stadium, Arena Mexico and is set to wrestle Steve Maclin at Maple Leaf Gardens soon.

The only place yet to be checked off is the Tokyo Dome, so this could lead to Cope and Cage coming to NJPW together to make their debut at a future Wrestle Kingdom before it is all set and done.

Last week saw three matches made official for the event, but there should still be plenty more additions announced in the coming weeks.

Here are three more potential new additions to the AEW All Out 2026 match card.

Mercedes Moné (c) vs. Thekla – AEW Women’s World Championship

Mercedes Moné’s big AEW Women’s World Championship celebration was, to the surprise of no one, crashed by her next potential challenger.

While a title celebration – like a contract signing – rarely, if ever goes off without a hitch, it was not former champion Willow Nightingale who confronted ‘The CEO’ but the woman who Willow defeated to become champion before her: Thekla.

Thekla missed out on the AEW All In London card after a breakout first half of 2026, so it was nice to see ‘The Toxic Spider’ line herself up as the first challenger for Moné’s crown.

With no other obvious challenger waiting in the wings, it feels likely that we see Moné vs. Thekla in Chicago on September 26.

The New Level (Swerve Strickland, Kofi & Austin Creed (c) vs. ‘Hangman’ Adam Page & Brodido (Brody King & Bandido) vs. The Don Callis Family (Kazuchika Okada, Kyle Fletcher & Kevin Knight) – AEW World Trios Championships

Along with Mercedes Moné and Will Ospreay capturing their respective AEW World Championships, perhaps the most memorable moment of All In London came when The New Level (fka The New Day in WWE) made their debut.

While their reveal was memorable enough, Austin Creed and Kofi made it all the more sweeter by winning the AEW World Trios Titles alongside Swerve Strickland in their debut.

The new champions have been hard at work already, defending their titles against The Rascalz last week, and against The Conglomeration on the September 9 Dynamite, but we don’t yet know who they will be in line to face at All Out.

While there are plenty of viable contenders, it would be nice to see the former champions Brodido and Hangman Page get their rematch in a traditional trios match, rather than the Trios Roulette where they lost the gold. Adding something extra, Don Callis could also continue his family bonding experiments by forcing Kyle Fletcher, Kevin Knight & Kazuchika Okada to team together in an attempt to bring more gold back to the family.

Andrade El Idolo (c) vs. MJF – AEW National Championship

With Andrade El Idolo holding a guaranteed AEW World Championship match in his hands, it’ll be interesting to see whether his run as AEW National Champion will be continuing in the long term, or whether his pursuit of the company’s biggest prize will distract him.

MJF did not make an appearance on last week’s AEW Dynamite, but a taped interview was shown of him being far from happy with the fact that Will Ospreay had won the AEW World Championship.

Given that Andrade snatched away his opportunity to reclaim his Triple B, it feels like MJF’s next course of action should be getting a bit of revenge on ‘The Real Latino Man.’

Putting an end to their issues once and for all, Andrade & MJF could do battle at All Out for the National Title, or, if AEW really want to ramp up the stakes, they could also put Andrade’s Casino Gauntlet contract up for grabs as well.
